To help you decide what type of truffle salt to get, I've written some information on the different truffles and the different types of truffle salt on the market:

Casina Rossa - Black Truffle Salt (Sale con tartufo nero)

A top quality truffle salt, Casina Rossa is a 3.5 oz jar of Italian sea salt expertly combined with Italian Abruzzi black truffles. Many feel that this gourmet condiment comes as close to the taste of fresh truffles as possible. I can attest that this infused salt will give any dish a touch of absolute divinity. The black Périgord truffle (Tuber melanosporum) is prized for its suble perfume of earth and wet leaves, and longevity of flavor.

Terre Exotique - Fleur de Sel with Italian White Truffles (Sale con tartufo bianco)

Terre Exotique has used an amazing Madagascar fleur de sel (hand-harvested sea salt from Ifaty, Madagascar), this salt alone is sublime. Combined with truffle it's absolutely intoxicating! There is a deep synergy between this fleur de sel and the rare white truffle, nicknamed 'white diamond', from northern Italy. The white truffle (Tuber magnatum) is highly sought after. The highest recorded price paid for a single white truffle was $330,000 for a 3.3 lb (1.5 kilograms) specimen found in Pisa, Italy. The white truffle has complex hints of sweetness and musk.

Selezione Tartufi - Black Truffle Salt

This truffle salt, imported straight from Pisa, Italy is also the real deal! This blend is 3.5 oz of Italian sea salt harvested from Emilia-Romagna, Italy, and mixed with black summer truffles harvested in Umbria, central Italy. Black summer truffles (Tuber aestivum) have a flavor that is much like the Périgord yet slightly more delicate and with a hint of chocolate sweetness. Summer truffles are less highly regarded but they are beginning to gain more favor as truffle connieseurs begin to appreciate their more subtle notes.

TartufLanghe - White Truffle infused Sea Salt

Truffles from Piemonte, Italy, in the famous truffle city of Alba, are said to be the best! Domenica Bertolusso, the owner of TartufLanghe, founded her business in 1968 and continues to operate it out of Piobesi d'Alba. This glorious truffle salt is composed of Atlantic Ocean sea salt and Piemontese white truffles that absolutely explode on the palate. This salt will introduce a beautiful bouquet of earthy aroma to your meals.
